The Best Way To Become An Annoying Pest.
Did you ever kick someone out of your office? I only had to do it once, and it really sucked! I was sitting at my desk a few years back at the end of the day. I had finished my paperwork, and was getting ready to leave. Suddenly in walks the annoying pest… You know who I’m talking about. The guy dressed in slacks, shirt, and tie carrying a large box of cheap junk.
“Hi, Beautiful day today isn’t it?” said the annoying pest.
“Yes it is.“ I said.
“Which is why I brought some great deals for you today!” said the annoying pest.
“I have absolutely no interest. Thanks for stopping by Today!” I said.
“Really? Because they said next door that you would be interested.” said the annoying pest.
I didn’t respond.
He asked one more question, and I sat there staring at him in silence. He got the hint walked out the door.
What Caused My Reaction…
Sitting there after he left, I started thinking about this encounter. Why did I instantly go on the defensive with this guy? Why did it become my mission to get him out of the office? Why was I so annoyed?
It’s pretty simple when you realized what happened. This guy burst through the door selling. He jumped right into a high pressure sales pitch. He said whatever he could think of to make a sale… true or not. His attitude, and actions projected he only cared about making a buck. And that instantly created a barrier of distrust.
He became the annoying pest. This what I was referring to in my post Unsubscribe… Run Away, Run Away… When all you care about is what you can get out of the deal… it repels, not attracts.
This is in complete contrast to how you should approach customers. You should have an attitude of how can you help, what can you give and how can you be of service. Give the customer plenty of reasons why they should trust you, and do business with you.
This builds credibility.
Remember what Zig Ziglar said:
“If you help enough people get what they want, you will get what you want.”

Very nicely worded. I like the clarity of your thoughts and how you put them into words.
I just wanted to let you know, and tell you that I will definitely be back for more!
