Someday Is Today!
Someday you are going to start an online business…
Someday you are going to start a blog…
Someday you are going to create your own product…
Well…
Someday Is Today!
I was reading Aaron Anderson’s blog post titled Friday, Saturday, Someday: The Day That Never Comes, and he writes that he knows people who have been talking about “someday” for years and they still haven’t done a thing.
One of the most popular “someday” is to start a business. In fact, Intuti the makers of Quickbooks did a study and found out that 72% of workers wanted to work for themselves. The study went on to find out that 67% of people think about quitting their jobs daily… WOW!
It’s puzzling to see people talk about wanting to start an online business, and not take action. It so easy to start an online business. You could be up and running in a matter of hours to a couple of days.
How? I’m Glad You Asked…
One of the easiest ways to start an online business is with a blog. First go to a web registration service like GoDaddy and register a domain. It’ll cost you about $10.00. Then sign up for a hosting service to host your domain name, and blogging software. That’ll run you $4.00/month on up. Don’t want to spend money? OK, go to Blogger or Typepad and sign up for a free blog.
Then take the next step, the next step and the next step… The key is to stay with this “someday” until it’s up and running. Stay focused, and don’t get distracted. Once this “someday” is going, then move on to the next “someday”.
It’s a simple plan, but it works.
What are you waiting for?

Yeah, I had to really overcome my ‘analysis paralysis’ and so I did it. I started a blogger blog, since WP was so daunting at the time.
I figured it was one less thing I had to figure out – I’d never run a blog before, and one more thing to keep me from starting one.
And now, it’s a different sort of ’someday’ since I have had adsense and other things running on the blog from the beginning.
So ‘Someday’ I’ll actually get something more than pennies per hour/day/week/month/year – assuming they send it along (i have yet to overcome their minimums!).
And sometimes, I don’t even KNOW what the next step is!
Maybe it isn’t just doing something, maybe it’s doing the ‘right’ things. I’m just not sure I’ve done it.
It seems like it’s been a lot of work, almost a year later and I’m still waiting for any real profit to come of it.
Got any ideas?

Pam,
Your blog is a great idea. You should move it to its own domain. You’ll have much more flexibility, and wordpress is easy to setup.

Thanks Keith!
I’m concerned that I lose any ranking/links, etc. I already have after all this time if I do.
That and I’m in earn-money mode (this is all i do right now) not spend-money mode.
I did start a WP blog to figure that out!
Your input is very welcome,
