Free Money is great reason why you need to be on blog announcement lists. The past month alone I have received over $1600.00 in free products just for being on blog announcement lists. Stuff I’m using to help my build my business. In addition to the free products I’m also on these lists is because I don’t want to miss a special announcement on a favorite blog.

You see the last month Ed Rivis, James Brausch have given out free stuff on their blogs. If I weren’t on their announcement lists I would have missed out on all this swag!

Ed sent an email to fill out a survey and you could have your choose to any one of 4 products… I answered the survey and snagged his product “shrink wrap your brain”. Great stuff. James Brausch has given me access to two products this month alone.

Is This All About The Swag?

While the free stuff is really cool… it’s not the only reason to be on bloggers announcement lists. I know I just spent a lot of time talking about some of the free stuff I’ve received from bloggers. All the swag that I received is not the reason to sign up on an announcement list.

You can fill up your inbox with junk marketers by chasing down all the free offers being made. I talked about this in Unsubscribe… Runaway, Runaway… It’s easy to slip into inbox overload if you are not careful. The content delivered must be valuable.

Okay, so the main reason why you want to signup on someone’s blog announcement list is not to miss any valuable information. A lot of times I’ve been reading a blog’s archives and found something great information that I was able to use in my own marketing. It was just pure luck that I happen to be reading their blog. Other times I’ve missed a few posts for time sensitive calls. And because I wasn’t on their blog announcement list I missed out. Other times I’ve missed some special pricing for a product they have just launched… that can be a bummer.

There are a lot of upsides to being on a blog announcement list. However… don’t get too carried away, or you might find your inbox loaded with junk.
