Help I’ve fallen… & I Refuse To Get Back Up!

Have you ever been walking down the street tripped & fell flat on your rear end? In front of a bunch of people?

Man it’s embarrassing! I know… been there, done that.

What did I do? (it’s happened to me more than once):

Simple, I got up dusted myself off, turned to the person next to me and said in a loud voice: “YOU TRIPPED ME!

What if I did this… Stay seated on the ground and refused to get back up to walk again. After all, it’s safer to stay on the ground. I mean if I get back up and try to walk again… I might trip and fall. So, it’s best to never try that again.

OK, the examples above are over the top & meant to be goofy. But, many people do pretty much the same thing with an Internet business.

They sit on the sidelines waiting to get good at marketing, blogging, writing, product creation or any number of things before they give it a whirl.

Or, they stick their toe in the water… to see how it’ll go. Then they stub their toe one, two or even three times… and then give up.

Are You Letting Mistakes Hold You Back?

Look… don’t worry about how things will go when you first start off. You will make mistakes, and there is nothing you can about it. It’s not going to be pretty.  In fact, there will be times when it’s flat out ugly.

It takes practice to get it right.

Notice I said practice…. I didn’t say sitting around studying, reading or learning till you got it right. That means getting out there and doing the thing you want to get good at.

But, here’s what will happen… you will get out there take some swings and miss.  One day you’ll get a couple of singles.  Another time you’ll smack a double.  You might strike out some more… but then one day BAM!  A Homerun!  And it will feel great.

However, without getting out there and swinging the bat… the homerun will never come.

Embrace your mistakes & and don’t be afraid to make your share!

Let me show you the some of the mistakes I’ve made on this blog in the past month…

I wrote a blog post about Jott, and it read like Sam Carrara created the service. This is what I originally published: ‘He introduced a service called Jott.’ What I meant to say was ‘Sam introduced me to a service called Jott.’ – Oops! Rewrote that one.

After I posted my 2nd screen capture video on YouTube titled Set Up An Index Page Demo I noticed that they were out of focus. So, I put my glasses on… Yep, they were still fuzzy. – Still working on this one.

On a TGIF Video Book Review – Episode 5 I showed a couple drawings I had done. Well, it turns out that the drawings were from exercises teaching how to draw… And not even from the book I was reviewing. – Cut the drawings out of the video, and sent an apology to the author of the book.

I’m sure there are mistakes on this blog right now that I haven’t noticed yet… But that won’t stop me from posting, or trying out new things. Because I know I’ll keep on making mistakes. In fact I’d be worried if I suddenly stopped making them.

The fun part will be figuring out how turn these mistakes into a positive.

The question to you is… Have you made any mistakes with your internet business? And were you able to turn it into around, or use it some way?

Comment below & tell me about your mistakes.

  1. Reminds me of Proverbs 24:16a

“…for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again…”

  2. Get Back Up…

How many times have you tried something and failed at it? For me it’s numerous times. There are a few good quotes to encourage you to fail again.
