“Vacation All I ever wanted Vacation Had to get away…”
OK… if you are not over forty you probably don’t recognize these lyrics. They are from a song by the Go Go’s an ’80s band.
It was great to take a break and go on vacation…
I would like to thank Sharyn Essman the owner of FeeFiFoto.com for stepping in and guest blogging. I enjoyed the post and it looks like many others did also.
This year we went to the Outer Banks, NC for the week. And we really went to the outer banks. The only way you could get access to our cabin was with a high clearnence 4-wheel drive. We only had to drive 8 miles on the beach to get to our cabin.
It was a blast… a whole week without cell phone, internet, cable or even a land line phone. It very restful to get away from all of the modern conveniences of the world today.
Here are few pictures…
There are wild ponies that roam the northern end of the Outer Banks. They are descendents of the Spanish Mustangs, and have lived here for 400 years. It was so cool to see the magnificent animals living free.
Here is a great picture of the beach… notice the tire tracks.
Here are some more ponies up on the sand dunes grazing. You are suppose to stay 300 feet away… I had to use the zoom to get this shot.
Here is our daily beach setup with the Xterra. The best part with this is we could toss everything in the back, lock it up and go for a walk on the beach. The raised tail gate made for some nice shade… we don’t need no stinkin umbrella.
Here is a shot of the dune, and someone’s beach access. About every half mile there is a break in the dune. This is where you drive your vehicle over to get back to the cabins. It is the only place you can be on a dune. They want the rest of the dunes to stay free of any traffic, walking… to help protect erosion.
I’ll post some more pictures, and tell more about the trip later. It sure was great to get away for awhile.

Even Beaker’s Jumping On The Rick Rolled Bandwagon…
Rick Rolled has been running around for awhile, but now Beaker from The Muppets is getting in on the action. If you don’t know what this is let me explain…
You will see a link to page looks like it contains valuable information, or a video.. When you click on the link you get sent a page which starts playing a video of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up”. Usually you are greeted with a headline that say “You’ve Been Ricked Rolled!”
Well it looks like The Muppets have joined in on the fun…
Here is the best version of Rick Rolled I’ve seen. Of course I’m a Muppets fan so I guess that makes me biased. Personally I like the fact that Beaker gets to be the lead on this song… I’ve always felt his talent was over looked!
This was expertly dubbed from the original version which Beaker sang the song “Feelings”…

I’m Posting From An Itouch…
Posting from an Itouch is slow and tedious… But cool.
I’m sitting in a hotel and they of course have Wi-fi. Its much cooler surfing and checking email. One thing that makes it alittle easier is the Itouch will fill-in words for you much like when your texting on your cell phone.
The learning curve is not to bad, but I should have read the instructions.Another drawback is I can’t see how this is formatting. I found out that it does auto save….because I accidentally touched something and found myself back at the dashboard.
I can’t see using the Itouch for regular posting, but in a pinch it will work.

What Did You Do This Weekend?
Hope you had a good weekend.
I did, because I took 3 days and went to Long Beach, CA. My wife was taking a business trip there, and I decided at the last minute to tag along for the weekend.
We had a great time. Here are a couple pictures of the trip…
This is a nice scenic view of the beach.
This is a picture of me & my wife with Laguna Beach in the background.

Here is a picture of the Lifguard House towards the end of the day. You can see the marine layer was setting in, but it was still in the low 70’s.
My wife had to attend a conference, and I decided to fly home today. It was a short trip, but was really great to get away from the cold weather here on the east coast. And my wife said it makes the business trip more enjoyable for her.
Freedom is the best benefit of running your own business in my opinion. The freedom to take an extra day without having to clear it with anyone, the freedom to make the decision of which day to return. I have to say that kind of freedom for me is more important than the security of employment.
James Brausch tells about his latest trip to Costa Rica: http://www.jamesbrausch.org/pictures-from-last-week/
Steve Lohrenz tells about he earned his freedom from his job at his blog today: http://www.stevenlohrenz.com/how-i-earned-my-freedom-and-quit-my-job. Congratulations to you Steve!
I’m grateful that I have this kind of freedom, and realize alot of people don’t. A lot of people go to a job they can’t stand, to work for a boss who is unappreciative of their efforts.
But this freedom’s available for anyone who makes the decision to reach out and grab it.

Alright I’m In Charge & I’m Taking Action!
This is Keith’s dog Gypsy… and I’m as mad as h-e-double-tooth-picks… and I’m not going to take it anymore.
He left me alone in the house again! He went to something called a Super Bowl Party. He said no dogs allowed.
Well I doled the usual punishment… wee-wee on the carpet… sort the garbage all over the kitchen floor… nibble on the coffee table. But, he hadn’t returned yet.
And I was bored… Suddenly I remembered that he left his computer on! So, I started surfing the net. And I found this cool bed online. Take a look:
http://www.precious-pets-paradise.com/p-BIJOU-DESIGNER-PET-BED.html
Well I know his paypal password & ordered it! Woo-hoo for ME!
I don’t see how he could be mad at me… after all he is always posting here about being a 2%er & taking action. How sitting around doing nothing will get you no where. You need to take the bull by the horns, and make it happen.
That’s exactly what I did! I’m a 2%er!
How about you? Are you ready to take some action?
James Brausch gives some great advice about becoming a 2%er at this blog post titled 4 Ways To Become Part Of The 2%. I like that part where he says you need to set a routine and stick to it… eventually it will become second nature.
Take me for example… Every time Keith leaves me alone I have a routine that I go through. I take action, and at first it wasn’t easy. Because sometimes I would decide to take a little nap before I did my routine. And what would happen is Keith would return before I woke up!
Well one day I decided to buckle down and do my routine before I took my nap. I used the nap as a reward for getting my tasks done. And it worked!
Now, I can wee-wee on the carpet, sort through the trash and nibble on the coffee table in under 20 minutes. That means more time for napping!
You can also become fast and efficient at your tasks with enough practice…
Make your plan and join us 2%er today!
Oops, I hear the car pulling into the driveway… gotta go!
See ya next time,
Gypsy

A Personalized Cartoon…
I met Stu Heinecke a couple years ago at the Kennedy/Glazer Superconference. Stu was a great guy, and I had a lot of fun hanging out with him. He built a list at the conference by offering to mailing anyone who signed up a personalized cartoon. It was a great way to get people to sign up on his list. I did, and about a week later I this in the mail. I put it away, and intended to get a frame to hang it up on the wall.
I was cleaning out my desk today and found it. I made a note to buy a frame and hang it on the wall. I will keep it because it has my name on it. It’s personalized… I’ll never throw it away. Hey it’s got my name on it!
The lesson is Stu made an irresistible offer to get me to sign up on his list.
Here’s the link to Stu Heinecke’s site: http://cartoonlink.com/. You can sign up on his email list and he will send you a personalized cartoon.
Can you resist? For me resistance was futile…
Keith
P.S. Sorry about the lame Star Trek pun… I couldn’t resist. ![]()

This Is Where It All Begins…
OK, I’ve been kicking this around for months… setting up a blog. I’ve read all the advantages for blogging, and agreed. But, I just didn’t take action.
Over the past month I’ve been reading James Brausch’s blog, and he talks about being a 2%er… Someone who takes action. And I labeled myself a 2%er because I’ve taken action towards building my online business. Heck, I’ve even made some money online.
Last week James moved his blog, and I was reading some of the new posts. I came across a post titled How To Feel Successful. I read it and went about my business. Came back and read it again, then came back the next day. And finally, I had to look in the mirror and admit that I’ve been fooling myself. You see I’m really a 98%er who does a mean impression of a 2%er.
I was doing a lot of those things on his list. Sure felt like I was busy doing something. All the while telling myself I was a 2%er. It was pretty tough to call myself a 98%er, but that’s what I was.
That’s why I’ve set up this blog. This blog is where I draw a line in the sand. This is where I focus on one course of action. No more jumping on the latest thing rolling down the pipe. No more jumping around, appearing busy and getting nothing done.
On James Brausch’s blog he has laid out a proven method to follow. And this blog will chronicle me on my way to my freedom day.
Come back often and watch the fun!
